The CHE Centre for Higher Education and Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences are set to host the next Annual Conference of the Society for Research on Higher Education (Gesellschaft für Hochschulforschung, GfHf). The conference will take place at the Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences campus on 11-13 September 2023, giving higher education researchers from the German-speaking world a wealth of opportunities to share thoughts and ideas.

A call for papers with the exact conference topic and related issues will be published in January 2023. It will then be possible to submit abstracts. A precise programme will be prepared in spring 2023 based on the submissions. The first two days of the conference will feature individual lectures, workshops, poster presentations and panel discussions on current topics in higher education research. This will be followed by the HoFoNa annual meeting for doctoral and early-career researchers on 13 September 2023. For the first time, this meeting will not take place before, but after the GfHf Annual Conference. More detailed information on this meeting is also set to follow.

The GfHf has been organising an annual conference since 2006. The conference features substantive presentations and debates, as well as discussions on the future of higher education research. It is also traditionally the setting for the presentation of the Ulrich Teichler Award for outstanding final theses and doctoral theses in this area.
