Julius-David Friedrich is the Head of the Higher Education Forum on Digitalisation (Hochschulforum Digitalisierung, HFD) and played a leading role in building up the initiative from its founding in 2014. His work focuses on the strategic direction and overall management of the project. He also provides recommendations to higher education institutions and policymakers on current developments related to the digital transformation of universities.
Before his time at HFD, Julius Friedrich helped develop the international university ranking U-Multirank and, within the CHE University Ranking, was responsible for managing the nationwide surveys of professors and administrative staff as well as coordinating the online publication in cooperation with the weekly newspaper DIE ZEIT. He studied Economics and the Management of Cultural and Non-profit Organisations at Bielefeld University and TU Kaiserslautern.
