Gero Federkeil is Head of International Projects at CHE and has been working there since 2000. His main areas of work include the European Higher Education Sector Observatory (EHESO), evaluations, the development and use of performance indicators, quality assurance, and higher education rankings. For many years, he was responsible at CHE for the international university ranking U-Multirank.
Previously, he worked as a policy officer at the Secretariat of the German Council of Science and Humanities (Wissenschaftsrat), where he dealt with topics such as higher education planning, academic medicine, the evaluation of universities and non-university research institutions, the development of the tertiary education sector, and the relationship between the higher education system and the labour market.
Gero Federkeil studied Sociology at Bielefeld University and graduated with a Diplom degree.
