The Introduction of Bachelor and Master-Programmes in German Higher Education Institutions - Survey This is a joint study of the Dutch Center for Higher Education Policy Studies (CHEPS) and the German Center for Higher Education Development (CHE) on policy developments and the implementation of Bachelor-Master programmes in Germany. The aim of the study is to gain an insight into the way in which German higher education institutions respond to the European development of implementing the bachelor-master system in higher education. The study analyses the motives and aims of higher education managers, the internal and external factors influencing the process of implementation in the institutions, the expected changes and the perceived effects of the implementation as well as the implementation process itself and the actual state of implementation. It is based on a survey among German higher education management and complemented by statistical analysis as well as a literature review. It gives a snapshot of the state of implementation in 2001 with respect to both quantitative and qualitative dimensions. |
