The Centre for Higher Education Ltd. is supported by an advisory committee which advises the CHE management and the two partners; the Bertelsmann Foundation and the German Rectors Conference, and agrees with them on the basic thematic orientation.

The advisory committee is formed by two representatives of the partners as well as national and international personalities with accredited expertise in the area of higher education politics, institutional management in higher education or industry. The ten members of the advisory committee are appointed by the partner meeting for two years each.
