Zielsetzung
There is increasing diversity of both the idea of a university and of its institutional form. The purpose of the conference is to provide university leaders and policy makers with an international forum in which to consider the strategic choices to be faced by universities arising out of this diversity.

The conference was organised around four major themes reflecting the major choices which universities will need to make:

Choices concerning access and participation
Choices concerning teaching and learning
Choices concerning decision making and accountability
